Friends of the Library
Each group is a 501(c) (3) organization and donations are tax deductible.
Friends of the Kingsland Library
The Friends of the Kingsland Library have been in continuous existence longer that any other Friends in the Llano County Library System. They help in everything from cutting out crafts for the Summer Reading Program to raising money for the new library. Membership dues are $5.00 a year.

Friends of the Lakeshore Library
The Friends of the Lakeshore Library have
proven to be one of the most active and effective
organizations in the community and, amazingly, in one of the
least populated areas of Llano County. Their contributions
have made an enormous impact on the Buchanan Dam and
Tow/Bluffton communities. Organized in 1994, first as
a Volunteer Group, they remodeled an older home/apartment
building and transformed it into the original Lakeshore
Library. The Volunteers joined the Friends of the Library,
Inc., in 1997 and as the popularity of the library grew, an
addition to add more space was proposed but instead, a brand
new building was suggested by the Library Board.
The Friends immediately began raising money for this project
using every means possible: dinners, raffles, mailers,
garage sales, book sales, grant writing, solicitation of
donations, and more. Within five years, they raised
over $350,000, had the old library torn down, and a new,
modern, facility erected in its place---all by 2004.
Recognizing a need for more parking, they raised another
$15,000 to purchase the lot across from the library and
transformed it into a beautifully landscaped parking lot.
Many of the Friends are retired and make time to provide
whatever assistance the Library needs. They have
continued to raise money each year for various projects and
equipment in support of the “best little library in Texas.”
Membership dues are only $10 a year.

Friends of the Llano Library
The Friends of the Llano Library was organized in October 2000. Regular Membership is $10.00 a year to be paid in January. The Friends promote volunteerism in the library and assist with special programming.
