Let’s Read

  “Read For The Fun Of It”, that’s what they will be saying during Teen Read Week. October 14-20 will be Teen Read Week with lots of activities at the Llano Library. All week after school there will be a read-a-thon and on Saturday there will games, food and more. There are also some new books such as: Wrango, Locked Inside, Just Ella, Over the Wall and others, and these are on the Jr. High AR list.

  We hope you make an artsy poster about Teen Read Week and TAG (Teen Action Group) because there will be a poster contest that will be judged and they will be displayed.

  There is not a set time for the Teen Read Week activities due to committees still working, but there will be more info soon. Hope to see you there.

Friday Night Fever

Friday night the T.A.G.( Teen Action Group) had a lock-in at the Llano County Library. There were many activities such as karaoke, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. We also had a talent show and treasure hunt. The teens were divided into eight groups, which was decided by the design on their name tags.

There were two rounds of Jeopardy, the first round consisted of Casey, Emily, Robert, and Kaeli. The second round players were Tiffany, Jessica, John, and Kristen. The first round winner was Casey and the second was Jessica. In the play off round, Casey won by a hair. They were all good players and had a lot of fun.

In the treasure hunt the kids had to find a certian book by reading a clue which they found in the previous book. Everyone was a winner   because the "treasure" was food.

In karaoke all the kids got a chance to "strut their stuff" singing and dancing to their favorite songs.They also had a talent show in which the kids got a chance to show everyone what they were made of.  The contestants were Jesse, Treasal, and Tiffanyl. All the girls were GREAT!!  All the kids enjoyed their moves and voices. All in all we had a TERRIFFIC time and hope we can do it again some time.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, August 29 2001 at 4:00pm and will last about 30 minutes.  Members may stay until the library closes at 5:30, BUT MUST HAVE A RIDE HOME AT 5:30.
